During last night's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (LSSC), Willie Geist told Stephen Colbert he brings a Taser to interviews when he has to interview guests who are as crazy as R. Kelly.

    “All hail Gayle,” said Geist.

“Would you have handle that any differently,” asked Colbert.

“Interviews like that are why I carry a small Taser with me at all
times because sometimes you just gotta get up and neutralize
the threat a little bit,” responded Geist.

Gayle King interviewed R. Kelly about the charges he’s facing for allegedly having sex with minor age girls.

Kelly became irate and combative during the interview, screaming, crying, and even hoovering over King.

King maintain her composure, not moving one bit as Kelly waved his hands violently above her while screaming incoherently at the camera. “…when he stood up and started screaming…Gayle’s just going (Geist imitates the expression on King’s face). She’s amazing. She’s incredible,” said Geist.

The allegations about Kelly being a pedophile date all the way back to the 1990s when he married the late singer Aaliyah who was 15-years old during that time.

Although the marriage ended abruptly, the whispers continued about Kelly allegedly preying on young girls. Kelly denies the claims.

Kelly was charged in 2002 with the crime of having sex with an underage girl.

Kelly escaped conviction after the case went to trial, six years later, in 2008.

The allegations and charges in the 2019 case are similar to those in the 2002 case with the biggest differences being the number of alleged victims, the images in the video are clearer, and time (#MeToo Movement).
